Clouds Hill

clouds.jpg (37565 bytes)
Clouds Hill near Bovington in Dorset, was once the home of T.E. Lawrence, Lawrence of Arabia. He first rented the cottage in 1923 and eventually bought the place in 1925 as a home for his retirement. Ten years later, he left the Air Force, but only five days later he died in a horrific motorbike accident.

Since then, a ghost dressed in Arab robes has been seen wandering around the cottage and is thought to be the ghost of Lawrence. Not only is he said to haunt his old home, but his motorbike, a Brough Superior, has been heard by many witnesses. The roar of the bike's engine can be heard, particularly near the spot where the fatal accident took place.
