There has been a house on the sight where Cadeby Hall
stands for some 250 years, and it is thought that there was once a monastery
here. The house has a series of underground passages where heavy chains have
been found strewn about after reports of chilling clanking noises.
It is said that a curse has been put upon the house by
the mother of a small boy who went missing in the grounds of Cadeby Hall. His
body was eventually found, years later, in an old tree trunk.
Other strange events include the sighting of a ghostly
coach and horses whenever a member of the residing family dies, and the
apparition of a monk that walks through the grounds.
