Basing House, situated in Basingstoke in Hampshire, was once the home of the
Marquis of Winchester. In 1645 however, it was destroyed by the Roundheads and
now all that is left are ruins. The ghost of Oliver Cromwell is said to walk
from the old barn at Lyckpit to these ruins.
