Baynards Park was said
to be haunted by the ghost of Henry VIII's Chancellor, Sir Thomas More, who
was executed for refusing to declare the nullity of Henry's marriage to
Catherine of Aragon. Sir Thomas' head was thought to have been taken there by
his daughter after his execution.
Sadly only the gatehouse, tower and some ruins now
remain of the Tudor house in Surrey, since the main house was destroyed by a
fire.
