Lyme Park

lyme.jpg (43839 bytes)
There are number of ghosts reputedly haunting Lyme Park, including a 'Lady in White' and an entire funeral procession.

The House of Lyme was once owned by Sir Piers II who was killed in battle and brought home to Lyme to be buried. Not only was his wife heart broken but also a woman by the name of Blanche. She had loved Sir Piers so much that she never recovered from her grief and died not long after his death. It is her figure that is seen walking behind his ghostly funeral procession as it works its way through the park.
