Not far from the Norfolk coastline
lies the town of Aylemerton. Here you can see large circular pits in the
ground that are thought to be the remains of a prehistoric settlement.
A white-clad ghost has been seen close by to
the pits, supposedly searching for something. The spirit often emits a
blood-curdling scream, hence the site has come to be known as the 'Shrieking
Pits'.
