The Abbey is reputed to be haunted by a number of different ghosts. John Bradshaw was the man responsible for signing Charles I's death warrant, and his ghost still walks the deanery in shame. A monk who was apparently a murder victim wanders through the cloisters on many evenings, and the ghost of the Unknown Soldier has also been spotted there.
